Waltzing Matilda

Uma música que marcou a minha passagem por Oz foi Waltzing Matilda.
Foi escrita por Banjo Paterson em 1895 e é considerada o Hino Nacional não-oficial da Austrália.
Conta com vários termos exclusivos da Austrália, como billabong, tuckerback e squatter.
Inclusive eu aprendi a música em Melbourne, na Igreja Tenrikyo Shinyu, com um dos fiéis do Reverendo Fukuda.
O filme mostra o encerramento das Olimpíadas de Sydney, em 2000, com performance de Slim Dust.

One song that has marked me in my period in Oz was Waltzing Matilda.
It was writed by Banjo Paterson in 1895 and it is considered as a Australian non-official national anthem.
The lyrics has a lot of exclusive Aussie typical terms as billabong, tucherback and squatter.
By the way, I've learned this song in Melbourne, in the Tenrikyo Melbourne Shinyu Church, with one of Reverend Fukuda's follower.
